The Region Foodservice Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for driving incremental, branded product sales in an assigned geography with a strong emphasis on conversion of new and development of existing “Impact Operators”. The RSD manages the assigned brokers and specified distribution entities within the geography. This role reports into the Director, Field Sales.
Main Responsibilities
- Target and develop a list of 40-60 Impact Operators including regional chains to achieve annual incremental gross sales targets based on verified shipped volume. Track activity through the CRM system to ensure accurate forecasting of opportunities to achieve the annual plan. Retain and further penetrate existing Impact Operators as assigned within the geography.
- Direct and hold assigned broker sales agencies accountable for specific, measurable KPI’s as defined in the Performance Period Score Cards.
- Leverage the Idahoan business system, SpudHub, to understand the dynamics in the territory via analysis of sales trends by product by distributor and in relation to operator sales within each distributor.
- Collaborate with Marketing to increase the brand presence of Idahoan and the value proposition of Fresh-Dried as a differentiator in the marketplace.
- Plan, deploy and analyze the impact of local distributor trade funds, managing within budget while achieving top line region growth targets.
- Continuously develop and improve in the fundamentals of strategic selling: pre-call planning, listening and questioning to uncover needs, matching and presenting features and benefits, closing sales and follow through to ensure product delivery.
- Study and understand all job-related policies (including but limited to travel and expense, confidentiality, business ethics) and adhere to them as indicated.
- Effectively manage call time, document activity and progress for each account and link calls to market and customer business plans.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited four‑year college/university, OR a suitable level of Foodservice industry knowledge gained from ten or more years of related experience, with an emphasis in sales and customer management of branded products.
Language Skills
- Ability to prepare, format, proofread, and edit documents which are succinct and professional.
- Effective oral and written communication, excellent telephone skills, and thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to conduct professional and compelling presentations and respond to questions from groups of customers sales representatives and managers.
Reasoning Ability
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to apply experience, common sense, and business acumen to a variety of situations, processes, and people.
- Understand the impact to sales and profit of decisions whether operator or trade related.
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently advancing the sales process in Impact Operators.
Interpersonal Skills
- Team player, flexible and accepts changing assignments and accountabilities.
Negotiation Skills
- Competency to implement the Win/Win system in all phases of the business and be recognized as a proficient negotiator.
Computer Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (including layout and formulas), PowerPoint presentations including graphs and charts; and ability to independently format professional documents and presentations.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work efficiently in a remote environment and travel (up to 75%) dependent on business needs.

- Annual Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000
