Overview

Horace Mann is seeking a Product Compensation Analyst to support agent compensation across Life & Retirement, Property & Casualty, Supplemental, Inside Sales, and the Horace Mann General Agency. In this role, you will be the go-to partner for agents, answering commission and production inquiries while working directly with business line areas to resolve discrepancies. You will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy by performing root cause analysis, conducting in-depth research with product divisions and HMGA. This position also includes reviewing and resolving error reports, maintaining manual compensation processes, and helping oversee the Agent Compensation mailbox. Beyond day-to-day operations, you will contribute to the development, training, testing, and monitoring of new processes and programs within agent compensation. The ideal candidate is a clear, compelling, and charismatic communicator who thrives on problem-solving, values accuracy, and builds trust with the field force and internal partners alike. This position is in-office Springfield, IL location with hybrid schedule M-W-F in office & T-Th work from home. Responsibilities

Support compensation operations across multiple lines of business. Answer agent inquiries regarding commissions and production. Resolve commission discrepancies in administrative systems. Conduct root cause analysis of compensation processed outside of published guidelines. Perform in-depth research with product divisions and HMGA to resolve issues. Review and resolve compensation error reports. Maintain and support manual processes for compensation Monitor the Agent Compensation mailbox and respond to inquiries. Assist in the development, training, testing, and monitoring of new compensation processes and programs. Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other business systems. Ability to collaborate across departments and build trust with stakeholders.
