Kids Ministry Leader

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Kids Ministry Leader at Cottage Grove Church, located in Des Moines, IA. The Kids Ministry Leader will oversee and lead the spiritual development and well‑being of children within the church community. Responsibilities include planning and organizing engaging programs and activities, teaching biblical lessons, building relationships with children and their families, recruiting and mentoring volunteers, and ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and values. The individual will foster a safe, nurturing, and faith‑building environment for children of varying ages.

Qualifications

Leadership, organizational, and team‑building skills to effectively manage and guide volunteers

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with children and families

Knowledge of biblical teachings and the ability to develop age‑appropriate lessons and programs

Experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, and program development

A passion for children’s ministry, with the ability to foster a welcoming and engaging environment

Flexibility, adaptability, and problem‑solving skills to address diverse needs

Previous experience in children’s ministry, education, or related fields is preferred

Bachelor’s degree in education, theology, ministry, or a related field is a plus
