Banking Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Working within the Banking Department, this individual will act as a strategic partner and liaison between the Banking Department, Internal Audit, Legal, IT, as well as Paycom’s banking partners and state and federal regulatory agencies. They will help coordinate the completion of internal and external audit requests and will work with department resources to ensure deadlines are met. They will ensure compliance with Paycom’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program including reporting activities. They will also be involved with handling and researching complex banking issues while helping create and maintain a positive and cohesive environment. They will assist the Banking Director with various projects and will assist with the coordination of duties to ensure all critical functions are completed timely as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as strategic partner and liaison between Banking Department, Internal/External Audit, Legal, and IT as well as Paycom’s external banking partners and local, state and federal agencies to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained.
Coordinate all activities related to the compliance of Paycom’s AML Program including but not limited to:
Identify, develop, and oversee all regulatory reporting requirements.
Ensure proper resources are available to meet audit and/or regulatory deadlines.
Monitor various AML reports to identify, document, and report such activities to management and appropriate state and federal agencies such as filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR’s) as required by law.
Collaborates with Banking Leadership to fulfill all internal/external audit requests making sure all documentation is accurate and complete and deadlines are met.
Responsible for the documentation and reporting of Unclaimed Property
Monitor fraud trends and recommend strategies to deter fraudulent activity.
Investigate potentially fraudulent activity and report findings to management.
Assist with activates related to compliance with the following:
State Departments of Banking
OFAC – Office of Foreign Assets Control
AML – Anti-Money Laundering
NACHA Rules
FinCEN – Financial Crimes Enforcement Network
BSA – Bank Secrecy Act
SOX - Sarbanes Oxley
SOC1 / SOC2
Monitors changes in regulatory or legal requirements and helps recommend/implement a course of action to ensure compliance is maintained.
Assists in training personnel on current or changing policies, procedures, and regulations
Assist the Banking Risk Management team with other risk mitigation activities.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
2+ years of experience in Banking, Finance or Auditing position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
Experience:
2+ years of Banking Operations experience
Skills/Abilities:
Intermediate knowledge of accounting
Intermediate knowledge of Word
Advanced knowledge of bank operations
Advanced reconciliation techniques
Advanced knowledge of Outlook
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Intermediate knowledge of banking rules and regulations.
Work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meet critical deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
