Short Intro and About the Job This high visibility position is responsible for managing and coordinating the quality compliance activities at the Danone City of Industry manufacturing facility. This includes the activities associated with FSSC 22000, Food Safety Modernization Act, Non‑GMO, Organic, Kosher, and other regulatory compliance programs at the facility. This position will assist the QFS Compliance Supervisor with ESL and/or Aseptic compliance related activities and audit‑ready function for the facility. The success of this position in meeting objectives is measured by internal, regulatory, and external audits measuring compliance to standards.

QFS Compliance Specialist

Key Responsibilities Maintain Quality & Regulatory Compliance throughout the facility

Maintain and review all food safety, processing, and regulatory compliance records for completion and compliance to CCPs, OPRPs, and PCs: processor charts, operator logs, sterile tank charts, operator logs, filler charts, operator logs, charts: CIP, raw receiving, raw tanks, sugar tanks, and other charts record

Escalate deviations or non‑conformance for corrective action

Lead or participate in Root Cause Problem Solving investigations through collaboration with cross‑functional teams

Ensure all activities related to HACCP/FSHCP, FSMA, and GMP are performed and documented properly

Lead and close out customer/consumer complaint investigations

Ensure facility equipment are calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly. Maintains required calibration records

Responsible for key activities related to product or packaging transitions

Support implementation of complaint management program, pest control program, and traceability program

Support internal and external audit activities with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and inspectors (LACF, CDFA, QAI, Non‑GMO, Gluten‑Free, Military, Kosher, FSSC 22000, etc.). Support closeout of CAPAs related to non‑conformances

Support continuous improvements in established processes to increase food safety and quality systems, take necessary actions to prevent food safety or quality issues from occurring

Function as the document control and record management administrator, update and manage controlled plant and corporate documentation

Support and deliver Food Safety and Quality trainings, update training materials as necessary

Stay current with key regulatory and certifying agency guidelines and regulations

Provide backup to the QFS Compliance Supervisor

Follows established safety practices and performs all tasks in a safe manner while promoting a safe work environment

Other duties as assigned by management

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged sitting and standing, bending, stooping and climbing

Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and laboratory equipment

Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and laboratory results

Requires lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires exposure to machines, chemicals and solvents

Work Environment

Emotional stability and personal maturity, ability to communicate effectively

Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and work under pressure

Engagement in our Integrated Work Systems Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

Compensation & Benefits Base compensation range: $70,000–$85,000 per year, commensurate with experience. About You Education & Experience

Degree: BS/BA in food science or technical field or comparable experience

3–5 years combined experience with food or ingredients and manufacturing experience

GFSI audit certification training / Internal Auditor Training

PCQI Certification

HACCP food safety and Quality Management preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

State and Federal regulatory knowledge

PMO Knowledge

Knowledge of kosher and organic processes and regulations for food manufacturing

Understanding of FSSC standards

Ability to work under pressure

Ability to multitask

Self‑driven, results oriented, able to work independently

Ability to work with confidential materials

Excellent communication / presentation skills

Excellent record keeping / documentation skills

Excellent Organization skills

Detail oriented

Nonessential Qualifications

Experience in QA Department of food manufacturing company preferred

Experience in compliance in food manufacturing company to include working with kosher and organic products highly preferred

Knowledge of plant production systems, plant sanitation, safety, quality systems, and GMPs preferred

PC, Internet, Microsoft Office, SAP, compliance & regulatory guidelines, calculator, basic laboratory instrumentation
