Library Director, Bacon Free Library (Natick)

The Town of Natick seeks an experienced and visionary Library Director to lead the Bacon Free Library (BFL) operations – a Town department operating the library on behalf of the BFL non‑profit board.

Established in 1880 and located in the heart of historic South Natick Center, the BFL is a small independent library situated in a beautiful park‑like setting overlooking the Charles River, surrounded by scenic grounds and gardens. The BFL serves patrons of all ages, benefitting from the strong support of an active Friends organization and a dedicated non‑profit Board.

With the support of full and part‑time staff and volunteers, the Library Director reports directly to Town Administration and is responsible for the overall administration and daily operations of the BFL as a department of the Town of Natick. Responsibilities include collection management, staff supervision, coordination of adult programming, and maintenance of the BFL’s IT infrastructure, website, social media, budget and financial records. The position requires close collaboration with the Morse Institute Library and the Minuteman Library Network, of which the BFL is a member through the Morse.
