About the Role
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for leading the overall marketing, communications, and brand strategy, driving growth, awareness, and mission impact through clear positioning and consistent messaging across all channels. This role will oversee integrated marketing and communications planning, public relations, external communications, content strategy, and campaign performance optimization using market research and data-driven insights. As a senior leader, the CMO will manage budgets and ROI tracking, serve as a trusted advisor and brand ambassador to executive leadership, and build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global marketing and communications team while partnering cross-functionally to ensure alignment and execution.
Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (master’s preferred), along with 10+ years' senior marketing leadership experience and at least 5 years' nonprofit marketing experience. The ideal candidate will have proven success developing and executing integrated brand and marketing strategies, strong knowledge of modern marketing channels and analytics, and a strategic, data-driven approach to optimizing performance. Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills are essential, including the ability to inspire teams, manage budgets effectively, and align messaging with mission-driven, values-based audiences.
