Position Title: Corporate Relations Officer Department: Development Reports to: Director of Institutional Giving Position Status: Full time, Salaried Exempt, At Will Overview The Corporate Relations Officer is responsible for identifying, soliciting, cultivating, and managing a portfolio of Corporate Members and Sponsors whose contributions support the exhibitions and programs of the ICA. The Corporate Relations Officer will tap into their entrepreneurial side and use creative strategies to connect with prospective donors to foster philanthropic giving and brand alignment. They will be a highly motivated relationship builder who will work collaboratively with internal and external partners. The Corporate Relations Officer contributes to a culture of collaboration, community, and respect while embodying the principles of ICA’s Quality of Service, and centers the work of Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion, and Belonging in all areas of their work. Working at the ICA All ICA employees are required to reside in Massachusetts and within commuting distance from our Seaport location as of their first day of work. The ICA offers a hybrid work week, which averages three days a week onsite for employees eligible to work remote (subject to change, and at managers’ discretion). Responsibilities Actively cultivate relationships for Corporate Membership and Sponsorship programs, as well as special event and in‑kind support. Solicit and renew corporate funding to meet revenue goals. Develop creative and effective proposals and marketing materials to drive Corporate Membership and Sponsorship programs using print, web, and electronic media and collateral. Proactively work with all ICA departments to identify content and opportunities. Research, review, and qualify prospective corporate funders. Develop strategies to build and grow relationships with corporate funders by leveraging ICA staff and board leadership. Design comprehensive stewardship plans for funders, oversee and execute benefit fulfillment and reporting on retained partnerships. Identify opportunities for corporate employee engagement, and brand alignment. Facilitate comprehensive review of Sponsorship agreements and contracts between corporate partners and relevant ICA team members. Ensure proper accounting of funds achieved through Corporate Membership and Sponsorship programs, through a regular review of revenue reporting and partnership with Development and Finance department colleagues. Ensure proper donor/sponsor acknowledgement, with Development Coordinators. Develop and oversee annual calendar of communications with corporate funders and prospects including acquisition, renewal, and stewardship mailings. Work with department leadership to develop annual revenue projections and track expenses. Represent the ICA at events and meetings on evenings and weekends, as needed. Maintain a working knowledge of news and best practices in corporate fundraising and trends in corporate social responsibility. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor degree with a minimum of 3–5 years’ work experience in a related field. Experience managing corporate relationships with local and national corporations. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies. Exhibits collaborative attitude, tact, discretion, and a creative approach to problem solving. Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). Familiarity with Tessitura or similar fundraising database preferred. Experience in a cultural organization desired. Must be able and willing to work nights and weekends. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of remaining stationary such as when working on a computer, and speaking on the phone. Ability to listen and talk for extended periods in person, over the telephone and computer. Possess mobility to work in an office setting and use office equipment, move about throughout the museum, and travel to offsite meetings when necessary. Must be able to exchange accurate information with donors and other constituents. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling, keyboarding and gripping. Salary Range $65,000 – $75,000 annually The wage range for this role accounts for a variety of factors used to make compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and professional training, and to the organization’s internal compensation structure. It is typical for a new hire to enter their role at the lower end of the stated range based on meeting the minimum qualifications of the position.
