Main Line Health’s Lankenau Heart Group, located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, offers an exceptional leadership opportunity for a System Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure. Join our nationally ranked cardiovascular program and lead the development of advanced heart failure care across our health system.

This role requires a seasoned cardiologist with extensive experience in managing complex heart failure cases, including ECMO and VAD, and demonstrated leadership skills to drive clinical excellence, research, and program growth.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership: Oversee advanced heart failure care delivery across Main Line Health hospitals and affiliated facilities
  • Program Development: Build and expand advanced heart failure and transplant evaluation programs
  • Research & Education: Collaborate with the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) to advance clinical trials and innovative therapies
  • Quality Improvement: Ensure compliance and implement best practices for patient outcomes
  • Community Engagement: Represent Main Line Health in outreach and education initiatives

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board-certified in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology
  • Active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility
  • Significant experience managing advanced heart failure patients, including mechanical circulatory support and transplant evaluation
  • Proven leadership in academic or clinical settings with program development experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
