At Park Valley Church our goal is persuading people through love to follow Jesus. Overview A Worship Leader at Park Valley Church is part of the integral process of planning, producing and implementing all aspects of worship elements of our weekend services and special events.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Assist with all coordinating efforts, activities, and rehearsals necessary to prepare for weekend services and special events.
Assist in the scheduling of worship team members for weekend services and special events.
Work alongside other members of the Worship ministry to develop musicianship.
Skillfully lead worship while playing guitar or keys.
Be passionate about our vision to reach our community for Christ.
Prepared to gain a working knowledge of technical areas of staging (lighting, lighting console, stage design, etc.); audio (sound boards, patching, Avioms, etc.).
Become skilled in the use of following programs with the goal of training others:
a. Ableton (music tracks)
b. ProPresenter (lyrics)
c. Planning Center (scheduling)
d. Dante/MIDI Controller (relates to Ableton)
Contribute to the development and onboarding process of new and existing vocalists and band members.
Continually look for ways to improve and implement new ideas to keep this ministry moving forward and keep it current.
Other duties as assigned by Executive Pastor.
Competencies
Be teachable and have a sense of humility, always extending God’s grace to others.
Strong vocalist with the ability to sing and teach harmonies.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency on guitar or keyboard.
Ability to self-start, lead and set an example for others.
Ability to pray and speak appropriately during worship transitions.
Possess a strong work ethic, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator in groups and one‑on‑one.
Basic Personal Responsibilities
Be a member through Grow series, regularly attend services of Park Valley Church.
Be punctual and reliable.
Maintain a growing relationship with Jesus through Bible study, prayer, worship, and tithing.
Exhibit conduct in keeping with Biblical principles and in accordance with Employee Handbook.
Support the vision and mission of Park Valley Church.
Maintain healthy working relationships with staff and volunteers.
Hours/Schedule This is a full-time, exempt position, with Sunday a mandatory day of the work week. Weekly schedule and hours will fluctuate week to week depending on church events and schedule. Evening and weekend hours, as well as some holidays, will be required.
