The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a mission-driven, relationship-centered Executive Director to lead our Platte County Community Center South - YMCA.
The Y is located in Parkville, Missouri a vibrant, close-knit community known for its historic charm, scenic riverfront, and welcoming atmosphere. With a lively downtown, strong community pride, and a focus on families and connection, Parkville offers the feel of a small town with an active, engaged spirit. The Y brings to the community a place where people feel connected - to each other and their community.
The Platte County Community Center South – YMCA is part of a dynamic countywide YMCA partnership, working in close collaboration with Platte County Community Center North (Platte City) and Riverside to strengthen youth development, promote healthy living, and advance social responsibility across the entire county. Together, these YMCAs serve as community anchors, bringing people together, expanding access to programs and services, and responding to the evolving needs of families throughout Platte County.
This role partners closely with Platte County leadership and community stakeholders to advance shared priorities, expand access to high-quality programs, and ensure the YMCA continues to serve as a trusted and valued resource for residents across the county.
The Executive Director will play a key leadership role not only within Parkville and Riverside, but as a collaborative partner across the Platte County Y network — building relationships, growing impact, and strengthening the YMCA’s presence throughout the region.
Position Summary The Executive Director oversees all daily center operations, drives strategic growth, and serves as the face of the community. This leader is accountable for membership growth, financial performance, community partnerships, program innovation, and delivering an exceptional member experience aligned with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s mission and values. The Executive Director builds strong teams, cultivates volunteer leadership, and ensures the center remains a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all.

$88,000–$92,000 hiring range

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum five years of progressive management experience; YMCA or nonprofit leadership preferred.
Proven success leading teams, coaching leaders, and developing staff talent.
Demonstrated experience in membership, customer service, program operations, community engagement, and/or fundraising.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
Ability to analyze data, drive performance metrics, and implement strategic plans.
Passion for the YMCA mission, community impact, equity, and inclusive leadership.
Must have reliable transportation. Travel around the Greater Kansas City area is required.
