A large national healthcare organization is seeking skilled Medical Directors to support clinical decision-making in a structured, remote environment. In this role, you will evaluate clinical information, determine medical necessity, and collaborate closely with external providers to ensure timely and accurate case determinations.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform timely, compliant medical necessity reviews for inpatient services
Ensure determinations follow CMS regulations, national guidelines, and internal standards
Communicate clinical decisions clearly both verbally and in written format
Meet established productivity, quality, and compliance goals
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external providers
Adapt to evolving utilization management processes, tools, and workflows
Participate in required educational or training activities
MD or DO degree
Minimum of 5 years of post-residency/fellowship direct patient care (inpatient or Medicare-type population preferred)
Active Board Certification in an ABMS-recognized specialty
Unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state (willing to obtain additional licenses as needed)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven analytical and clinical interpretation abilities
Experience working in a collaborative team environment
Background in managed care (Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, Commercial)
Prior experience in Utilization Management
Familiarity with MCG or InterQual guidelines
Clinical experience in IM, FM, Geriatrics, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, or related specialties
