About the Role The Arizona Department of Revenue is seeking a detail‑oriented Digital Accessibility Associate to help ensure government information is accessible to everyone. In this role, you will remediate digital documents—primarily PDFs—so they meet accessibility standards and can be used by individuals relying on assistive technologies such as screen readers. You will play a key role in removing barriers to information access for all Arizonans.
Work Arrangement
Remote work available after initial training
All onboarding and training are conducted onsite at 1600 W. Monroe St., Phoenix, AZ 85007
Training duration: approximately 1–2 weeks, depending on learning progress
Interviews may be onsite or remote
Key Responsibilities
Remediate PDF documents to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and PDF/UA standards
Add and correct tags, reading order, headings, tables, and alt text
Ensure documents are fully compatible with screen readers and assistive technologies
Use tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and Grackle to apply semantic structure
Follow strict accessibility standards and compliance guidelines
Review and validate documents for accuracy, consistency, and usability
Required Qualifications
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Comfortable learning and using business and accessibility software tools
Ability to follow structured processes and compliance standards
Experience working with digital documents or business software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PDF remediation
Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Title II of the ADA
Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or Grackle
Knowledge of HTML/CSS or web page structure
Accessibility certifications such as IAAP CPACC
Experience with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers)
Additional Requirements
