An established, multidisciplinary design firm is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture to lead and grow its landscape practice in Charleston. This is a senior leadership role for a seasoned professional who is passionate about design excellence, team development, and strategic growth.
Role Overview The Director of Landscape Architecture will provide creative, technical, and operational leadership for a diverse portfolio of projects across public and private sectors. This individual will play a key role in shaping the vision of the landscape practice, mentoring staff, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction for the landscape architecture team
Oversee design quality from concept through construction
Manage and contribute to a range of complex projects
Support business development efforts and client relationships
Collaborate closely with other disciplines and leadership teams
Mentor and develop staff, fostering a positive and inclusive culture
Contribute to strategic planning and growth of the practice
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
Licensed Landscape Architect (or ability to obtain licensure)
10+ years of professional experience, including leadership responsibilities
Strong design sensibility and technical expertise
Experience managing teams, projects, and client relationships
Excellent communication and presentation skills
