Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose
The Director of Strategic Enrollment and Recruitment leads the College’s recruitment and enrollment efforts, driving growth and strengthening the regional nursing workforce. This position oversees a high‑performing admissions and recruitment team, builds strategic partnerships, and applies data‑driven strategies and targeted outreach to position the College as the destination of choice for nursing education.
Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and continuously refines a comprehensive enrollment plan for undergraduate and graduate programs, aligned with institutional goals and market realities. Applies advanced data analytics and forecasting to set measurable enrollment targets and monitor performance, adjusting tactics as needed. Anticipates market shifts and program demand to proactively position the College for sustained growth. Leads the recruitment team in meeting shared enrollment objectives, fostering a results‑oriented, collaborative culture.
Analyzes market trends, demographic data, and competitor activity in collaboration with the BJC Marketing & Communications to identify opportunities and mitigate challenges. Establishes and nurtures relationships with feeder institutions, including high schools, community colleges, and practice partners, as well as corporate and community organizations. Partners with program directors, faculty, student services, alumni, and marketing/communications to create tailored outreach strategies for diverse audiences and program offerings. Oversees cultivating pipelines for transfer students and other key groups that drive enrollment growth.
Designs and executes audience‑specific recruitment initiatives that attract diverse, highly qualified candidates, leads external recruitment activities including school visits, hospital/healthcare outreach, community events, and representation at regional or national college fairs and conferences through strategic planning, coordinated execution, and active engagement to increase visibility, build relationships, and connect with prospective students. Leads multi‑channel communication strategies including digital campaigns, personalized outreach, and multi‑touchpoint nurturing to move prospective students through the enrollment funnel. Plans and oversees high‑impact recruitment and yield events such as open houses, campus tours, and webinars that showcase the College, connect prospects with faculty and staff, and guide students through the enrollment process.
Partners with the financial aid office to integrate scholarship, grant, and loan information into recruitment messaging. Develops strategic timing and deployment of financial aid offers to influence enrollment decisions and meet competitive goals. Identifies and addresses financial barriers that may impact prospective students’ ability to enroll or persist.
Oversees and guides the strategic use of the admissions customer relationship management platform in collaboration with IT, marketing, and student services to ensure effective configuration, optimization, and seamless integration with related systems, monitoring of recruitment performance through analytics and other data sources, tracking key performance indicators such as inquiries, applications, and conversion rates. Uses data insights to set recruitment strategy, improve ROI, and allocate resources effectively. Provides timely, high‑quality reports on recruitment metrics, market trends, and budget utilization for senior leadership and the Board of Trustees. Develops dashboards, reporting tools, and system enhancements that provide real‑time, actionable insights and improve the prospective student experience.
Manages individuals including but not limited to onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
