GENERAL FUNCTION
The Porter Department provides a safe and friendly environment for guests and team members by establishing and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas of the casino in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains cleanliness of all areas as directed by Porter Supervisor or Manager.
Janitorial cleaning for all assigned areas as directed by porter manager and/or supervisor.
Removes trash, replaces ashtrays, and wipes and cleans all ashtrays and trash cans.
Customer service, to include providing service and information to guests.
Cleans between slot machines, removes glasses and trash, and discards all empty bottles around guests and maintains those areas without disrupting play.
Keeps all slot chairs/table chairs clean in assigned areas.
Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, pressure washing, emptying trash cans, and performing bio-hazard clean-up.
Maintains all porter department equipment and supplies in an orderly manner.
Report all equipment malfunctioning and supply shortages.
Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all restrooms in assigned areas.
Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Twenty-one (21) years of age.
OTHER
Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire. Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people. Strong written and verbal communication skills; work closely with other departments. Excellent guest service skills. Flexible availability-including weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more. Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis. Ability to push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more on a cart, dolly or two-wheeler; or while operating vacuum/shampooer. Standing or walking for extended periods of time. Occasional exposure to weather conditions. Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, and air quality.
