We strive to help achieve personal career goals by providing opportunities of growth and movement throughout the company.**Purpose of the Role**Reporting directly to the EVP of Innovation & Advanced development, the Senior Director of Product Development (Consumer Devices) provides enterprise-level leadership for the end-to-end development of dōTERRA’s product portfolio, spanning consumer devices, physical products, and integrated solutions. This role is accountable for translating product strategy into executable development plans, ensuring products are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer experience.Partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams, the Senior Director drives alignment, operational rigor, and scalable development practices across the organization.**Key Responsibilities****Product Development Leadership & Strategy*** Own and lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from concept approval through launch and post-launch optimization.* Translate product strategy and business objectives into integrated development roadmaps, milestones, and delivery plans.* Establish development frameworks, governance models, and best practices that enable predictable execution and scalability.* Serve as a senior leader and thought partner to executive leadership on product investment, sequencing, and risk.**Cross-Functional Execution & Alignment*** Lead and align cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, industrial design, UX, quality, regulatory, supply chain, manufacturing, and marketing.* Ensure seamless handoffs and collaboration across functions throughout the development lifecycle.* Partner with program and portfolio management to drive execution discipline, dependency management, and delivery accountability.* Act as the primary escalation point for complex development challenges and cross-functional tradeoff decisions.**Device, Hardware & Platform Development Oversight*** Oversee development across consumer devices, electrical, mechanical, firmware, and system-level platforms (as applicable).* Ensure tight integration between product requirements, engineering execution, and manufacturing readiness.* Guide development decisions that balance customer experience, technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, cost, and speed to market.**Supplier & Manufacturing Engagement*** Provide senior leadership oversight for engagement with contract manufacturers and key suppliers, ensuring alignment on development timelines, technical requirements, and quality standards.* Support supplier strategy, make/buy decisions, and readiness for pilot builds, validation, and mass production.* Ensure development processes support global manufacturing scalability and long-term cost efficiency.**Quality, Risk & Compliance Management*** Ensure products meet internal quality standards and external safety and regulatory requirements across all target markets.* Proactively identify development, technical, supplier, and execution risks and drive mitigation strategies.* Oversee design verification and validation, launch readiness, and post-launch issue resolution in partnership with Quality and Engineering.**Operational Excellence & Financial Stewardship*** Own development budgets, resource planning, and investment prioritization across the product portfolio.* Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and metrics to improve speed, quality, and predictability.* Build and scale high-performing product development teams and leadership capability across the organization.**Required Qualifications & Experience*** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, Operations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.* 12+ years of progressive experience in product development, engineering, or related disciplines, including 6+ years in senior leadership roles.* Proven track record leading complex product development portfolios from concept through commercialization.* Strong understanding of consumer product and/or device development, including hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and supply chain considerations.* Demonstrated experience working with global contract manufacturers and strategic suppliers.* Exceptional cross-functional leadership, executive communication, and decision-making skills.* Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing multiple concurrent initiatives.**Location & Travel*** Based in Pleasant Grove, Utah.* Occasional domestic and international travel required to support development activities, supplier engagement, and manufacturing readiness.doTERRA International, LLC. is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
