Title:
Director of Operations — Future Frontiers
School:
Future Frontiers (Sumner‑Fredericksburg School District contract)
Start Date:
July 1, 2026. Contract: 225‑day; IPERS; full family health; mileage reimbursement; flexible work environment.
Starting Salary:
$115,000
Overview Future Frontiers is a 9–12 public charter launching in 2026 that blends competency‑based academics, accredited concurrent enrollment, and sustained employer internships. We open Year‑1 with 30 students (scalable to 220) and a bold mission: revolutionize the power of small rural schools so students earn meaningful credentials while staying in their communities. The Director of Operations will lead operational design, facilities, tech, compliance, and launch execution in an entrepreneurial, AGILE environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead operational launch plan, facilities, transportation, and vendor management.
Ensure state and district compliance, reporting, and risk controls.
Oversee tech/LMS/live‑stream infrastructure and operational systems (enrollment, attendance, safety).
Coordinate HR/onboarding with district HR and manage procurement/payroll interfaces.
Develop contingency staffing/WBL alternatives and scalable operational processes.
Co‑lead with the Director of Outreach and Superintendent; support teaching & learning for first cohort.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s required (Master’s preferred); 5+ years operations leadership in education, startups, or complex services; K‑12/charter startup experience preferred.
Demonstrated project management, vendor/tech implementation, and compliance experience.
Entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity, strong communicator and collaborator.
