Industrial Sales Manager - MEP

Compensation Package : $75,000 – $100,000 + sales commission and performance-based bonus incentives

Location:

Houston, Texas

Schedule:

Onsite Monday–Friday with regional travel to customer sites

Reports To:

VP of Sales (dotted line to CEO)

Role Overview The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across design-build, construction, maintenance, and service offerings within mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines for industrial, manufacturing, and energy-sector clients. This role focuses on developing long-term customer relationships and expanding market presence across greenfield projects, facility expansions, retrofits, shutdowns, and ongoing service agreements.

The position is primarily sales-driven (approximately 90%), with limited project coordination support (approximately 10%) to ensure scope clarity, smooth handoff, and alignment between customer expectations and execution teams.

Key Responsibilities Industrial, Manufacturing & Energy Sales (Primary Focus)

Drive sales of MEP design-build, construction, maintenance, and service solutions supporting industrial, manufacturing, and energy facilities.

Leverage an existing book of business and established industry relationships to generate immediate pipeline and recurring revenue.

Develop and maintain relationships with plant managers, maintenance leaders, engineers, project managers, reliability teams, and operations leadership.

Identify opportunities across full project lifecycles, including conceptual design, design-build execution, capital construction, system upgrades, shutdowns, outages, and preventive maintenance.

Conduct site visits and plant walkdowns to understand operational constraints, safety requirements, and facility needs.

Grow recurring revenue through service agreements while expanding project-based construction and design-build work.

Manage sales pipeline, forecasting, and revenue performance aligned with growth targets.

Identify cross-discipline opportunities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes.

Represent the organization in client meetings, site reviews, preconstruction discussions, and industry events.

Sales Leadership & Strategy

Support and mentor Sales Representatives and account managers focused on industrial, manufacturing, and energy accounts.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and development of technically oriented sales talent.

Support execution of sales strategies aligned with design-build, construction, and service markets.

Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and operational data to identify growth opportunities.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting for assigned market segments.

Light Project & Operational Support (Approximately 10%)

Support handoff of sold work to estimating, engineering, project management, and field operations teams.

Ensure scope clarity, safety requirements, and execution expectations are clearly defined prior to mobilization.

Participate in limited coordination for design-build projects, construction work, shutdowns, or outage-related efforts when required.

Maintain strong alignment between sales, estimating, service, engineering, and field teams to support successful execution.

Qualifications

5+ years of sales experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or energy-sector facilities.

Demonstrated track record of success selling design-build, construction, and service-based MEP solutions.

Established book of business within industrial, manufacturing, or energy markets.

Strong understanding of plant operations, safety-driven cultures, and reliability-focused environments.

Familiarity with industrial mechanical systems, electrical distribution, and plumbing infrastructure.

Solid business acumen with experience managing pipelines, forecasts, and recurring revenue.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with technical and operational stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Ability to travel regionally to industrial, manufacturing, and energy customer sites.
