Position Summary
The Director, Strategic Initiatives & Project Management serves as a key partner to the Vice President of Global Alliances, driving the execution of complex, multi-country international initiatives and managing day-to-day relationships with international health systems, ministries, and academic partners. This role navigates regulatory, cultural, and operational differences while ensuring operational discipline, accountability, and follow-through across initiatives spanning business development, clinical collaborations, education consulting, and operational improvement.
The Director leads cross-functional teams, manages multiple projects simultaneously, and serves as a central point of coordination to advance the hospital’s global strategy. This role also serves as a trusted thought partner to senior leadership, helping shape strategy and guide decision-making in complex, high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution
Partner with the VP of Global Alliances to translate strategic goals into actionable project plans with clear deliverables, milestones, and KPIs
Lead execution of strategic initiatives related to international growth, business development, clinical program expansion, and global partnerships
Monitor progress against objectives, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes
Project & Program Management
Oversee end-to-end management of multiple concurrent projects, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets
Build scalable operating models and design governance frameworks that can be applied consistently across global partnerships
Implement project management frameworks, dashboards, and tools to track progress and provide visibility to leadership
Facilitate alignment across departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
Operational Improvement
Drive process optimization and operational improvements across Global Alliances functions
Identify opportunities for efficiency, scalability, and best practices in program delivery, patient referral management, and partner engagement
Develop and implement SOPs, governance structures, and accountability mechanisms
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Serve as a connector and relationship manager across senior leadership, faculty, and external partners
Develop high-quality presentations, reports, and updates for senior leadership and board-level audiences
Communicate effectively across clinical, administrative, and external audiences to ensure alignment and impact
Leadership & Team Development
Mentor and manage project staff or cross-functional workgroups
Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results
Represent the Global Alliances team in strategic meetings and hospital-wide committees as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration; Master’s degree in Business, Public Health, or a related field preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, business development, or consulting, with demonstrated success in project management and execution
Deep understanding of healthcare delivery systems, international healthcare, or academic medical centers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues into clear recommendations
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
Recognized for leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver results with a high degree of independence
