Records Management Specialist
BB&E is an employee-owned full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented
Records Management Specialist
to join our team supporting our NASA Environmental Services contract at Ames Research Center in Mountain View, CA.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Full document lifecycle management of NASA Ames Restoration records
Interpret and apply regulations governing written and electronic records maintenance, retention/ retrieval to support physical configuration audits, engineering requirements verification closure activities, project and management status reviews.
Protect sensitive and/or permanent records with proper disposition and user access controls
Publish quarterly updates to the Federal Administrative Record Index for public viewing and public notices when documents are available for viewing
Record changes to document management and update the standard operating procedures and the Ames Environmental Records Management Plan
Maintains an information system for tracking quality assurance programmatic/resource information.
Provide management and project personnel with expert advice, guidance and recommendations regarding agency records management policies and procedures.
Prepare necessary NASA forms for the disposition, transfer and/or destruction of electronic artifacts in coordination with Division Records Custodians and OSI Records Liaison Officer.
Collaborate with other departments and NASA Centers, as required.
Key Qualifications
A strong background in environmental compliance and restoration
is required
Must be adept at problem-solving, including identifying issues and developing solutions
Demonstrate exceptional project management skills and abilities
Able to communicate clearly, both written and orally
Able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data, and skillfully gather and analyze information
Able to prioritize assignments to use time efficiently
Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, and be responsive to management direction
Knowledge and experience with California or Federal Environmental laws and regulations
Professional registration and/or certifications in fields of expertise preferred
Experience & Education
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Environmental Restoration Records Management
is required
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences
is required ; a master's degree is desired
Physical Requirements
Must be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods for multiple days/weeks
Able to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
Capable of light lifting, up to 50 lbs.
Working conditions:
Able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)
Able to walk/climb/knee/crouch and reach
Able to work on rough terrain when necessary
Able to work in confined spaces and/or heights
Able to wear the required PPE, minimally use gloves, a hard hat, a respirator, and steel-toe boots that may be in combination with protective clothing/suits, a respirator, and/or a fall restraint/recovery harness
Exposure to hazards/contaminants at times
