We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader to establish and lead the global business unit (BU) innovation and evidence PMO. This role is responsible for building and adhering to cross‑therapy governance, and establishing operational framework, and driving business excellence through the program management office. The Director will be instrumental in driving strategic value, innovation, and measurable outcomes across the organization. This role requires a seasoned executive communicator and influencer—someone who can confidently engage with senior leadership, shape enterprise‑wide decisions, and champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. The Director will also oversee cross‑therapy programs to ensure alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and patient‑centric outcomes. Work Schedule

Department & Strategic Leadership

Solidify the global BU PMO vision, strategy, and operational roadmap within the TMTT business unit. Lead with clarity and purpose, aligning departmental goals with BU and enterprise strategy and clinical priorities. Establish and execute policies and procedures that support the department’s objectives and scale across the BU. Hire and develop talent and establish foundational processes and tools. Executive Communication & Influence

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, translating complex clinical and program data into actionable insights. Lead cross‑therapy leadership meetings, represent cross‑BU functional initiatives, and strategic planning sessions. Influence cross‑functional leaders and stakeholders to drive alignment, decision‑making, and implementation. Program Management

Oversee the planning, execution, and governance of a diverse portfolio of cross‑functional innovation and evidence programs. Ensure strategic alignment across programs, balancing innovation, risk, and resource allocation. Monitor global program health and resource management; drive corrective actions as needed. Facilitate prioritization and decision‑making across competing initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability across the BU. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including R&D, Quality, Marketing, clinical, regulatory, launch, and global teams. Lead cross‑functional collaboration and foster a culture of transparency and trust. Serve as a change agent, guiding the organization through transformation and adoption of best practices. Own PMO continuous improvement initiatives related to innovation and evidence generation. Drive adoption of new PMO tools, methodologies, and best‑in‑industry practices. Facilitate business case development and resource prioritization across programs. Collaborate with functions across the enterprise on best practices. Thought Leadership & Mentorship

Act as a subject matter expert in program and project management, with deep understanding of innovation, clinical, and regulatory environments. Mentor project managers and emerging leaders across the organization. Promote a culture of learning, innovation, and operational rigor. What you will need (required)

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Related experience in project/program management or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Hands‑on experience managing large to midsize projects and/or programs of increasing complexity or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Demonstrated track record in people management What else we look for (preferred)

10+ years of experience in program/project management, with a proven track record of building or transforming departments. Experience managing clinical portfolios and navigating regulated environments. PMP certification preferred; PMP, Scrum Master, Green/Black Belt a plus. Demonstrated success in executive‑level communication and stakeholder engagement. Expertise in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, ProChain, Agile). Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrated track record in people management Risk and performance management Change management and stakeholder influence Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance‑based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $156,000 to $221,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
