Position Summary:
The In Room Dining Telephone Sales Agent is responsible for handling all incoming room service calls in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner. This role involves taking guest food and beverage orders accurately, providing menu recommendations, and coordinating with the kitchen and delivery staff to ensure timely service. The agent also handles guest inquiries, special requests, and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction by maintaining excellent communication and service standards. Strong phone etiquette, attention to detail, and knowledge of hotel services are essential to succeed in this role.
Pay Rate:
The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position starts at $18.50 plus service charges.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, or equivalent GED required. College degree is preferred.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcohol.
Past serving experience required. (Prior In Room Dining experience highly preferred.)
Certification of alcohol awareness program, training in food, wine & liquor service is preferred.
Courteously and quickly answer In Room Dining phones and take and input all guest orders efficiently.
Effectively and efficiently suggest and upsell menu items to tailor each guest experience to their preferences.
Must possess a passion for providing extraordinary service and be upbeat, outgoing and positive.
Ensure receipt of orders by servers and settle checks in the Micros system according to hotel specifications.
Process payment of guest checks in accordance with accounting requirements and maintain accountability for all the financial transactions.
Responsible for set up and organize workstation and maintain cleanliness at all times.
Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available through In Room Dining.
Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices.
Must be able to communicate in English with guests, coworkers, and management to their understanding, both verbally and written.
Ability to maintain concentration and think clearly in all settings, maintain confidentiality of guest information, and ability to compute basic mathematical calculations will be imperative.
Maintain and contribute to a positive work environment by being a team player; must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, hours of operation of each outlet.
Must be able to acknowledge and follow directions with minimal supervision.
Uphold the core values, and policies and procedures of the resort.
All other duties, as assigned.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
Must be able to lift minimum weight of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances.
Must be able to stand and sit as needed throughout the entirety of shift, while bending, stooping and reaching.
