Design Consultant – Residential
As an Design Consultant at Megatel Homes, you will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing interior spaces that align with our brand vision and exceed our clients’ expectations. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the interior design process, from initial concept development to final execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. This will mostly be a field position in the Dallas area for our lagoon communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive interior design concepts that meet the needs and objectives of each project
Produce detailed design plans, including space layouts, color schemes, material selections, and furniture/fixtures specifications, using CAD software or hand-drawn sketches.
Source and procure design items, materials, furniture, and accessories from various vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers/vendors to secure the best possible deals and discounts, while maintaining excellent vendor relationships
Oversee the installation and implementation of interior design elements, coordinating with contractors, craftsmen, and other trades professionals to ensure proper execution of design plans.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, address any design issues or modifications, and ensure compliance with design specifications and standards
Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and innovative design techniques to continuously enhance our design offerings and maintain a competitive edge in the market
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
3 years working as an interior designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects in residential, commercial, or hospitality design
Excellent knowledge of design principles, space planning, color theory, and materials selection
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders
Experience in procurement and sourcing of design items, materials, and furnishings, with a keen eye for quality, craftsmanship, and value
Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
