Aquatics Director

Under the direct supervision of the COO, the Aquatics Director is responsible for the overall programming and staffing of the indoor and outdoor pools of the Alamance County YMCA. The Aquatics Director is responsible for creating a welcoming, safe, highly engaging, and highly developmental program space. They will create an inclusive culture that serves both members and participants as they look to grow confidence and skill, all while fostering an exceptional feel of community at the pools. They will be responsible for managing such functions in accordance with the stated mission and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees and Board of Directors of the YMCA. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred and/ 4-5 years of related experience Experienced and passionate about creating and fostering communities and relationship building through programs Possess a high level of initiative and superior communication skills and presence to effectively manage the staff, programs and schedule of the department Exceptional oral, public speaking and written communication skills Ability to attract, lead, motivate and retain quality staff Ability to work in collaboration with community partners Proven track record in developing new programs as well as reviewing and enhancing existing programs that are both fiscally viable and effective Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
