Digital Media Forensics Specialist - Expert Overview
Digital Media Forensics Specialist to support the Army Counterintelligence Command (ACIC). Requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
Responsibilities
Support CI and CT investigations.
Research, design, deploy, and lead training events.
Evaluate emerging forensic technologies.
Provide operational security assessments and support cyber forensic and cyber security tasks.
Recover information from computers and storage devices; recover data such as documents, photos, and emails from deleted, damaged, or manipulated drives.
Use forensic tools to find electronic data, including internet history, word processing documents, images, and other files.
Identify hidden, deleted, or lost files.
Assist officials in analyzing data and evaluating relevance.
Protect computers from infiltration; determine intrusion methods; recover lost files.
Document processes and develop intelligence-based reporting.
Test and evaluate emerging trends in digital forensics software and hardware; assist in developing new processes and procedures.
Perform all phases of forensic examination of digital media, including evidence acquisition, forensic analysis, and reporting; maintain chain of custody and adhere to applicable rules of evidence.
Provide support for incident response, intrusion events, and malware analysis.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current TS/SCI security clearance.
Must meet one of the following:
High School Diploma with 20 years of relevant experience.
Associate’s degree with 17 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
Minimum of two years of host-based forensic experience.
DoD Digital Forensic Examiner (DFE) certification.
Experience with mobile device forensics is highly desired.
Certified Forensic Examiner (CFCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), or EnCase Certified Examiner highly desired.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
