Job Description
The Defense Technical Writer will develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation that meets organizational and defense industry standards. This role involves translating complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and other cross‑functional teams.
Requirement/Must Have
Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
Experience writing documentation and procedure manuals for diverse audiences.
Superb written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
Gain deep understanding of products and services and translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
Write user‑friendly documentation tailored to target audiences.
Research, outline, write, and edit content in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
Gather information from subject‑matter experts and create procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
Create and maintain templates that align with organizational standards.
Develop content in alternative media formats to improve usability.
Work with engineers and operations teams to improve user experience, refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support materials.
