Job Summary
The Logistics Sales Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the sales and operations teams by coordinating freight movement, negotiating rates with truckers and carriers, and ensuring seamless execution of customer shipments. This role serves as a key liaison between sales, carriers, and internal teams to drive profitability, service excellence, and long-term carrier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Support logistics sales representatives by securing carrier capacity for customer freight
Negotiate competitive rates, lanes, and service terms with truck drivers, owner-operators, and carrier partners
Source, vet, and onboard new carriers while maintaining compliance and documentation
Coordinate load coverage, dispatch details, and shipment tracking from pickup through delivery
Communicate proactively with carriers and customers to resolve delays, issues, or changes
Update transportation management systems (TMS) with accurate load, rate, and carrier information
Monitor market trends, capacity fluctuations, and spot-rate conditions to support pricing strategies
Assist with customer quotes, margin analysis, and sales reporting
Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners to ensure repeat business
Collaborate with sales, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate billing and timely payment
Required Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, carrier sales, or transportation support
Proven experience negotiating rates with truckers, owner-operators, and carriers
Strong understanding of freight markets, lanes, and transportation pricing
Excellent communication, persuasion, and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in TMS platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
