Machine Builder
Machine Builders apply HERE!!! The Interface Tech builds machines according to job orders, schematics, and prints, by placing component parts and sub assembly units on machine frames to meet production schedules. MPI drives a LEAN culture, focused on customer service excellence. We do this by working to simplify our processes and driving out waste or non-value-added activities. We value participation at all levels and invest in our employees' training to achieve continuous development of our dynamic team. Responsibilities
Supports MPI lean culture and initiatives by attending and participating in daily lean meetings while supporting efforts to make continuous improvements throughout MPI. Follow schematics, drawings, and written procedures to assemble equipment to specifications including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical assemblies. Startup of newly built equipment including high voltage connections, software installation, component setup and calibration. Follow quality control checklists to confirm machine operation. Use shop interface manuals for MPI interface procedures. Work with other departments as needed to resolve any engineering or manufacturing related problems. Operate forklift for material transport, upon completion of MPI training. Operate chain hoists and lift tables, upon completion of MPI training. MPI is a LEAN company and maintaining your work area and tools in a clean, safe, and organized manner is a requirement. Assist and support lean manufacturing initiatives within the department and other areas as requested. Follow all Personal Protection Program guidelines. Compliance of all OSHA and MPI Safety Procedures. Some welding of parts, equipment. Other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with employees of organizations including fellow workers, engineering staff and supervisors. Sound understanding of electrical fundamentals, PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the ability to read and interpret schematics, ability to comprehend circuits and components. Advanced skill level and ability to perform technical trouble shooting and diagnostics of mechanical and electrical components and control mechanisms. Mechanical experience in assembly or repair. Welding experience Above average computer skills with recent experience. Extensive trouble shooting experience, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Valid driver's license: checked and verified by MPI Insurance carrier before driving MPI vehicles. Education and Experience: 2 years of college or technical school with 2 years' experience, or 5 years of related experience and training. Why Join MPI
