We are seeking a highly capable
Facilities Director
to oversee and optimize the physical infrastructure of our growing organization. This role will provide strategic leadership and hands-on management of all Areté facilities, ensuring safe, secure, compliant, and efficient operations across multiple locations. The Facilities Director will be responsible for long-range facilities planning, preventive maintenance programs, space utilization, contractor/vendor oversight, and adherence to all federal, state, local, and DoD-related requirements. This position will also partner closely with Security, IT, and Program teams to support classified and unclassified workspaces, ensuring all facility standards align with operational needs and regulatory obligations. The administrative function of Areté will report to the Facilities Director. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated leadership in facilities management within a technical or government-contracting environment, strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site organization. This position can be based at our
Tucson, AZ or Northridge, CA
office and is a supervisory, exempt, full-time position.

Experiences and Background We Look For (required skills):
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration,(storage) or related field (orequivalentexperience).
8+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or related roles, with 3+ years inleadershipcapacity.
Proven experience overseeing multi-site operations and managing complex facility systems.
Strong understanding of building codes, safety bidra, environmental compliance, and physicalsecuritystandards.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to build strong partnerships across departments.
Nice to Have (preferred skills):
Experience supporting engineering, R&D, laboratory, classified, or defense-industry facilities.
Knowledge of SCIF/SAPF requirements and secure facility operations.
Certification(s)suchasCFM,FMP,PMP,orrelatedcredentials.
Experience with space planning, capital project management, and sustainability/energy efficiency initiatives.
