What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Oversee timely and accurate coding of all facility outpatient visits and coding audits
Manage operations related to denials, claim edits, and charge capture for reimbursement
Conduct audits of medical records for coding accuracy and compliance
Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals
Monitor employee training, productivity, quality, and overall performance of coding specialists
What is Required (Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in health information administration or equivalent degree
Minimum of 3 years of medical coding and/or revenue management experience
Seven years of relevant industry experience in outpatient medical coding and revenue cycle operations preferred
Required certifications may include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC (outpatient credential only)
Knowledge and experience with electronic health records and health information management applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous management experience in a healthcare setting
Experience with ICD-10-CM diagnoses, HCC coding, and CPT-4 procedure codes
Proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders within a healthcare system
Strong understanding of billing rules and compliance requirements
