(20 hrs./week average) HOURS: MON – THURS- 12:30pm – 5:30-pm
HIRING RANGE*:$17.45 - $20.94/hr
Full Position Pay Range $17.45. – $24.43 (*Starting pay will be within Hiring Range)

Responsibilities General Duties This is a part-time, non-exempt position working under the general direction and supervision of the Administrative Services Director.This position greets the public as they call or walk-in to City Hall and acts as the frontline representative of the public’s interaction with West Point.
As such, position is responsible for exemplifying the City’s goal and purpose of serving the public to the best of our ability, and charged with creating a positive, helpful, and purposeful experience with each interaction .Responsible for performing a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support for department. Answers incoming phone calls; provides assistance to the public; processes data, documents and reports; and other duties as assigned.
General Essential Functions
Greet walk-in customers and telephone callers with an enthusiastic and helpful attitude
Provides assistance to citizens by telephone, in-person, or email, and when necessary, directs citizens to appropriate department
Understand, interpret, and explain City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
Accurately process utility payments and payments for building permits, applications, reservations, etc. as needed
Input work orders for the Public Works Department
Assist with processing park reservations and event applications
Establish and maintain filing systems for proper control of department records as needed
Prepare routine correspondence and supporting documentation
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications General Qualifications Required
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED
AND
Two (2) years of working experience in an office setting
Positive work attitude with excellent customer service skills; enthusiastic, confident, outgoing, helpful and committed!
Skilled in the use of a computer and its various programs.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form in a manner that demonstrates sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and stay organized
Reliability and good attendance
Preferred
College courses in English, math, and/or business writing
Work experience with the organization, functions, policies, rules, and regulations of local government
