$21-$24 DOE. Benefits eligible, 401(k), discounted childcare, paid leave. Hours:

40 hours/week; Monday–Friday. Some evenings and weekends required. Status:

Full-time Hourly non-exempt.

Job Summary:

The Child Care Program Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a broad range of programs for the child care program. The Child Care Program Director also provides leadership, supervision, and evaluation to program and volunteer staff. They manage budgets; control expenses as assigned; and maintain and seek out positive relationships with community partners, school administration, school district partners, and Club parents. The Child Care Program Director is also responsible for administrative tasks such as monthly program reporting, grant management, grant reporting, and frequent program evaluations.

Staff Leadership

Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises staff on job responsibilities and Boys & Girls Club expectations

Provides tools and coaching for success

Conducts annual staff evaluations and provides ongoing professional development

Arranges and facilitates training as needed or requested

Assists staff in planning and implementation of programs

Recruits and maintains child care clients

Creates and maintains excellent rapport with client families, child care licensing, school district personnel/administration and community supporters

Offers programs that address the needs and interests of child care licensing, families, and community

Maintains strong communication with families regarding child progress.

Coordination of programs and activities

Oversees Curriculum Integration: Ensures the implementation and consistent delivery of the approved preschool curriculum

Monitors Instructional Quality: Conducts regular classroom observations to ensure the curriculum is being fully adapted to meet the developmental needs of youth.

Staff Mentorship: Provides high-level guidance and technical support to teaching staff to facilitate the seamless translation of curricular frameworks into daily lesson plans and interactive learning experiences.

Continuous Improvement: Evaluates the efficacy of the curriculum through the provided assessments and student outcomes tools

Creates and maintains a structured schedule for staff, youth and parents

Plans programs that meet the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake goals, objectives, and required grant requirements and plans and facilitates national programs as required

Financials

Responsible for maintaining the budget set for the program

Responsible for managing expenses and managing supply budget

Safety and guidance of all child care clients

Provides guidance to all youth to help them make appropriate choices

Deals with inappropriate behavior with positive discipline

Creates safe environments for all youth

Keeps program spaces clean and organized

Meetings

Participates in regular meetings, coaching, and training with supervisor

Coordinates weekly meetings with staff for updates

Data Collection

Maintains adequate data collection: Calendars, Monthly Reports, Attendance Data, Club Reports, and Membership Data

Completes all paperwork as needed in a timely manner

Maintains child care licensing credential and BGC Safety policies

Ensures the facility maintains compliance with all child care licensing requirements

Monitors employee licensing including collection and submission of fingerprints and payments to the Department of Health

Follows all safety policies as outlined in the Protection of Youth Policies

Required Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old

Must be able to drive 15 passenger vehicles and have a good driving record

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Must be able to pass a Drug Screening

Be CPR and First Aid certified (the Boys & Girls Clubs can arrange for this)

Obtain valid Food Handler's permit as required (the Boys & Girls Clubs will arrange for this)

Be able to function for more than 2 hours on your feet

Be adaptable and flexible to change

Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge

Demonstrated knowledge of principles related to the development of youth specifically between the ages of 3-8

Understanding of group dynamics as well as Boys & Girls Clubs' Youth Development Strategies, Mission Statement, Core Beliefs, and Core Characteristics.

Demonstrated understanding of the principles of effective guidance and discipline for youth and adults.

Has proven ability to manage, motivate, and supervise subordinates.

Two-year college degree or, at least, two years related experience in youth service and management

Must be knowledgeable in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Other Requirements

Must have one or more of the following qualifications:

Education : A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field is typically preferred, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with sufficient experience

Experience : 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, with prior leadership or administrative experience highly prioritized

Certifications : Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required

Candidate must have a bachelor's, or graduate degree from an accredited college with successful completion of at least 12 semester credit hours of early childhood development courses

Valid proof of a level 8, 9, 10 Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder certification issued by the Utah Office of Child Care or Utah Child Care Professional Development Institute

A currently valid national certification such as a Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) issued by the National Child Care Association, a Child Development Associate (CDA) issued by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, or other credential that the licensee demonstrates as equivalent to the Department

A currently valid National Administrator Credential (NAC) issued by the National Childcare Association, plus the following: Valid proof of successful completion of 12 semester credit hours of early childhood development courses from an accredited college
