Tech Consultant – Digital Platform Architecture & MVP Development
Scope Impact is seeking a Tech Consultant - Digital Platform Architecture & MVP Development Location:
Remote Position Description
Scope Impact is developing CHART (Climate x Health Adaptation and Resilience Tool), a digital platform designed to support evidence-based decision-making for climate adaptation to improve health outcomes. CHART integrates climate and health data, vulnerability assessments, and solution pathways into a lightweight, scalable “data-to-action” tool, co-designed with partners in Kenya and India using human-centered design and agile methodologies. The current phase of work focuses on delivering a minimum viable product (MVP) while laying a strong technical foundation for interoperability, local adaptation, and future AI-enabled capabilities. Scope is engaging a Tech Consultant to support solution architecture, integrations, and agile MVP development, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team and external technical partners. CHART is being developed as a Digital Public Good, with the intention of open-sourcing core components. The Tech Consultant will help establish technical foundations and governance practices that support community contribution and long-term sustainability beyond Scope’s direct involvement. Areas of Responsibility
Define the overall CHART technical architecture, clearly distinguishing between: core platform functionalities, modular components (e.g. country specific APIs, integrations) and hackable or extensible elements that enable local customization and innovation. Ensure the architecture supports scalability, interoperability, and future AI-driven capabilities. Document architectural decisions and trade-offs to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintenance. Integrations & interoperability
In collaboration with local partners in Kenya and India, map existing health, climate, and related information systems. Define interoperability requirements, standards, and data flows to enable seamless integration with CHART. Support the design and implementation of APIs and integration workflows that align with country contexts while maintaining a common core platform. Support the delivery of a lightweight MVP through iterative sprints, in close collaboration with product, design, and analytics teams. Contribute to the development of a “data-to-action” platform that integrates: climate and health analytics, vulnerability assessments, a solution or intervention database, and decision-support outputs and recommendations. Ensure rapid testing, iteration, and refinement based on user and stakeholder feedback. Advise on future CHART technology needs, and provide recommendations that balance ambition with feasibility for MVP development. Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience in digital platform architecture and MVP development, preferably in data-intensive or decision-support systems Strong understanding of APIs, interoperability standards, and modular system design Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders Experience working in agile, iterative development environments Experience working remotely with multi-disciplinary teams and external technical partners, using collaboration tools such as Miro and Figma Experience or interest in working with generative AI tools or agents Experience in health, climate, or environmental data systems Exposure to AI / machine learning–enabled analytics Experience working in or with low- and middle-income country contexts Knowledge of open-source tools and data standards Ready to make a difference?
If you’re a motivated and self-driven professional looking for an opportunity to grow while contributing to impactful work, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, send a CV and an introductory letter to
