Salary Range : $95,081.00 Salary/year
ASSISTANT FINANCE DIRECTOR
SALARY : Minimum: $95,081 per year
Position will typically hire at minimum pay and follow a step progression to maximum
CLASS SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for leading and managing the operations of an assigned area. Responsibilities may include supervising staff; managing daily operations; project management; and managing budgets.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Supervises staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; coordinating staff training; and supporting personnel procedures.
Manages operations of an assigned area, including: approving budget disbursements; approving payroll; reviewing internal controls and making recommendations for improvement; analyzing and resolving financial matters; and performing related tasks.
Prepares and manages the annual budget for an assigned area.
Prepares and audits the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report in compliance with regulations.
Manages related projects, including: coordinating work across staff, internal departments, and consultants; resolving project issues; managing vendor relationships; and performing related tasks.
Assists in pension system administration and assists Pension Board as needed.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.

Qualifications TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Business with 5-7 years of related experience, including 3-5 years of governmental accounting and budgeting experience, and 3 years of supervisory experience; or, all required certifications and 5-7 years of related experience; experience with ACFR preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
CPA preferred
