Director of Clinical Informatics (2600002Z) The Director of Clinical Informatics will help lead our clinical technology transformation initiatives, with a focus on our Epic electronic health record implementation. Thisreasonable role will have the opportunity to design and implement the Epic EHR and adapt it to best meet the needs of our patients, clinicians, and organizational strategy. The director will develop and oversee our Epic informatics teams to facilitate enterprise go‑live, system governance, and ongoing optimization. You will partner with clinical and operational leaders to define user needs and establish strategic prioritization to address system gaps. Your teams will collaborate across applications, informatics, and technology training teams to monitor utilization and experience data and promote a continuous learning model to advance user adoption and system mastery. Your expertise in health‑care workflows, clinical informatics, and health information technology will empower our staff to leverage technology with competence and confidence, improving patient safety, care delivery, business processes, and the overall experience for patients, families, and colleagues every day.

Qualifications Minimum Education

Master's Degree: Master’s or other advanced degree in nursing, clinical informatics, information systems, business, health‑care administration, or a related field. (Required)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) DNP, PhD, or equivalent in a clinical or technology field such as nursingôté, clinical informatics, health‐care administration, or a related field is advantageous. (Preferred)

Minimum Work Experience

Minimum of seven years of clinical informatics practice, including recent use of Epic, preferably with direct Epic implementation experience. (Required)

Minimum of five years in direct patient care, with experience in pediatrics and academic health systems strongly preferred. (Required)

At least 3 years of leadership experience in clinical practice, clinical informatics, information technology, or other applicable role(s). (Required)

Required Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse – current and active RN or equivalent health‑care professional license. (Preferred)

Appropriate Epic certification obtained and maintained for the assigned responsibility within 6 weeks of completing training, if not obtained prior to hire. (RequiredRemain)

Nursing informatics certification such as ANCC Informatics, CPHIMS, American Medical Informatics Association AHIC, or other formal education and training in clinical informatics. (Required)

Technical – Strong expertise in health information technology design, maintenance, and optimization, including electronic health records and other enterprise systems. Adept in all facets of interdisciplinary clinical workflows and health‑care operations, including revenue cycle, advanced analytics, and other business processes. Thought leader in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence.

Clinical Technology Transformation and Optimization

Align people, processes, and technology to support evidence‑based, efficient, and effective care delivery and operations.

Guide workflow redesign and change management initiatives to enhance clinician experience and system usability.

Integrate clinical decision support tools into the EHR to guide clinicians in making informed decisions.

Promote adoption of new technologies and practices across disciplines.

Analyze clinical workflows and redesign them to optimize patient safety, care coordination, and clinician efficiency.

Education, Engagement, and Governance

Establish effective governance structures to support shared decision‑making and informatics leadership across disciplines.

Engage clinical education and technology training teams to ensure effective, efficient, and engaging training experiences for Epic and other clinical technologies used by healthcare professionals across the continuum of care.

Develop and oversee an Epic clinician builder program for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance

Promote standardization, clinical decision support tools, and advanced analytics to reduce harm and improve outcomes.

Partner with clinical, quality/safety, and regulatory teams to ensure technology solutions support organizational compliance, continuous survey readiness, and adherence to high reliability principles.

Maintain awareness of industry regulatory landscape and interpret them for integration into technology and clinical practice.

Ensure clinical informatics practices align with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Provide leadership and subject‑matter expertise in clinical technology downtime and disaster planning and recovery efforts.
