Director of Housekeeping
Location: Luxury Resort – Maine (South of Portland) | Status: Full-time, year-round leadership role
About the Opportunity
Our Resort, one of New England’s most renowned coastal luxury properties, is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Housekeeping to lead its housekeeping and laundry operations. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact leadership role responsible for upholding the resort’s exceptional guest service standards and ensuring the highest levels of room and facility presentation. 226 accommodations, comprising 186 guest rooms and 40 new luxury suites.
This position is ideal for a professional looking to step up from a senior management role or for a seasoned leader seeking a rewarding, quality-driven environment.
Key Highlights
Oversee a team of ~60 during peak season, including 2 managers and 6 supervisors.
Manage H2B, J1, and seasonal employees, scaling down to 30 team members in off-season for deep cleaning and project work.
Supervise a 10‑person laundry team.
Luxury, boutique property with Forbes 4‑Star and Michelin‑level expectations.
Position requires a visible, operational leader with strong organizational and follow‑up skills.
Qualifications
Background in luxury hospitality or boutique resort operations.
Demonstrated success in managing large, diverse housekeeping teams.
Strong operational leadership — ability to lead by example.
Knowledge of SOP creation, inspection standards, and productivity systems.
Excellent communication and staff development skills.
