This is a high-level nursing leadership opportunity within a large, high-acuity acute care hospital that serves as a regional destination for Women's and Children's services. The Women's Services RN Director provides strategic and operational leadership across a comprehensive women's health continuum that includes antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and a Level III NICU. This role is ideal for a seasoned Women's Services leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is comfortable managing complexity, acuity, and large teams while driving quality outcomes and operational performance. Position Overview
Reporting to senior nursing leadership, the Women's Services RN Director is accountable for
24/7 clinical, operational, and financial oversight
of assigned women's services units. This leader partners closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement. Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic nursing leadership for Women's Services with full 24-hour accountability. Oversee clinical quality, patient safety, and evidence-based practice across all assigned units. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to meet the needs of patients and families. Drive operational efficiency while managing resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional practice standards. Support and advance the organizations mission, vision, and values. Lead, mentor, and develop nursing leadership and frontline staff. Monitor key performance indicators including quality outcomes, patient experience, staffing, and throughput. Qualifications
Required Minimum of
5 years of recent (within the last year) leadership experience
as a Manager or Director in Women's Services within a
large, high-acuity hospital . Demonstrated experience supporting
3,500+ births annually
in a complex obstetrical environment. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Current RN license in the state of practice or active compact license. Ability to obtain and maintain BCLS certification. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Specialty certification in Women's Services, OB, or related clinical area. Reports to:
