Your growth is key to our ongoing successtake the lead in shaping your career development, goals and future!/ppSenior Manager, Incident Management (Houston)/ppJob Summary/Purpose/ppAll members of NRGs safety function will be expected to own safety, work to prevent incidents and seek to improve with the understanding that zero harm is possible. The Sr Manager, Incident Management will develop, deploy, execute, manage and improve assigned safety and occupational health programs, with an emphasis on Incident Management and Corrective Action programs. There will be regular opportunities to demonstrate skills in change management, contract management and communications. This position will also be required to present to leadership the health of the program for which they are responsible, communicate any deficiencies identified and develop sustainable solutions to prevent future issues. It will be expected that the Sr Manager, Incident Management engages with their peers to support their growth and build bench strength within the safety function./ppJob Duties/Responsibilities/ppLead or support root cause analysis for incidents when required or requested by corporate, fleet, or plant leadership./ppDevelop, implement and/or manage necessary tracking tools and platforms for incidents, root cause analysis and corrective actions./ppLiaise with and support business unit safety and operational leadership to lead and influence continuous improvement across NRG./ppManage the implementation, maintenance, validation and revision of assigned safety and occupational health management system components./ppManage applicable processes, platforms, resources and contracts associated with assigned safety programs./ppLead and/or participate in internal and external special project teams with the purpose of continuous improvement./ppEngage, develop, and maintain relationships with external partners, organizations, and memberships./ppDevelop and perform trending analysis to drive continuous improvement across the organization/ppPerform and/or assist with data entry/extraction/modification in various information platforms used at power plants and in corporate roles (Intelex, Success Factors, PI, etc.)./ppSupport and encourage the growth and development of safety professionals across the organization through coaching and mentorship./ppPeriodically travel to NRG sites including corporate buildings, power plants, and job sites./ppWorking Conditions:/ppWork overtime and non-standard working hours as directed/ppAbility to travel 25% of the time/ppPossess a valid Drivers License at all times/ppRequires wearing personal protective safety equipment/ppMay entail lifting (lt;50lbs), climbing, walking and standing for extended periods of time/ppMinimum Requirements:/ppMinimum Education: Bachelors Required or equivalent work experience/ppMinimum Experience: 10+ years industry/safety experience with 4+ years Power Plant experience preferred/ppMinimum knowledge, skills and abilities/ppStrong understanding of safety regulations in the Electric Power Generation industry/ppThorough understanding of applicable OSHA regulations and industry guidelines./ppExtensive experience performing investigations/RCAs with tools such as TapRoot, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five whys, etc./ppExperience working within safety and occupational health management systems/ppExperience with change management and project management./ppAbility to observe, engage effectively and partner with leaders, front line employees and contract partners/ppSkilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI, SAS, etc./ppAbility to train and/or develop training materials associated with assigned management system components/ppDemonstrative knowledge of AI tools and applications relevant to the role./ppAbility to manage multiple activities and changing priorities independently/ppStrong oral and written communication skills/ppExcellent organizational skills./ppAbility to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required/ppAbility to learn region-specific bargaining unit agreements/ppAny Certificates, Licenses, etc.: Required: ASP/CSP/SMS/COSM/CIH or equivalent/ppNRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
