National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU)
— Texas An Assistant Counsel/National Field Representative position is available in the NTEU Austin Field Office. The position offers a generous benefit package and a starting salary range of approximately $68,040 – $180,249, depending on relevant experience. With successful performance, there are additional increases to that salary range on an ongoing basis. Travel is required; NTEU offers workplace flexibilities, such as telework. Responsibilities
Serve as liaison between NTEU local chapters and headquarters. Represent NTEU and employees in arbitration and other administrative forums such as the EEOC, MSPB, and FLRA. Work with chapters to build membership and improve operations; conduct training; and support membership recruitment. Develop and present cases for hearing; perform legal writing, including post-hearing briefs; design and implement internal issue organizing campaigns; participate in representational election campaigns; work with unions and/or other organizations to build membership and improve operations. Demonstrated experience and success in litigating cases will receive special weight; leadership capabilities are highly valued. Assigned to specific geographic locations within Texas (and some surrounding states) where NTEU chapters represent federal employees across a broad range of agencies. Operate with minimal supervision; manage a significant caseload; collaborate with assigned chapters to maximize membership growth and maintain dignity and respect in the workplace on behalf of our members. Travel is required; telework and other workplace flexibilities may be available. Qualifications
Experience preparing and presenting cases for hearings. Legal writing experience, including post-hearing briefs. Designing and implementing internal issue organizing campaigns. Participating in representational election campaigns and working with unions or other organizations to build membership and improve operations. Demonstrated experience and success in litigating cases (weighs heavily). Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage a significant caseload. Willingness to travel within Texas and surrounding states. Application
