Overview

Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to serve as our Director of Respiratory Therapy. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to lead a newly certified, 50-bed sub-acute, vent-dependent program and help shape the future of respiratory care in our community and facility. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary Care Delivery team, you will oversee all aspects of respiratory care, including mechanical ventilation, CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and medication nebulizers—while providing direct support to patients, families, and staff. Provide leadership and oversight for all respiratory services in the sub-acute program, and throughout the facility. Deliver direct care and treatment as prescribed by physicians, including ventilator management, PAP therapy, and oxygen therapy. Educate and train patients, families, caregivers, and staff on respiratory modalities and equipment use. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers to monitor patient progress and coordinate care, for optimal outcomes. Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, providing ongoing in-service education and consultation. Ensure proper operation, monitoring, and maintenance of all respiratory equipment and gas systems. Document care and utilize electronic medical record systems effectively. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Administrator. Required Qualifications

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), licensed in Virginia. 3-5 years of experience in sub-acute care, long-term acute care, or homecare setting. BLS, ACLS certification preferred. Strong leadership, teaching, and collaboration skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records and related technology. Preferred

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a health-related field. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Why Join Us?
