Ensures all operations and services are conducted in accordance to Federal, State and local laws and regulations and accrediting standards.Analyzes and reports pharmacological and disease management information. Provides hematology/oncology clinical analysis expertise to physicians and clinical staff. Conducts pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research.**Primary Duties & Responsibilities*** Responsible for the training and education required for regulatory and accrediting body requirements.* Ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance for the retail pharmacy and mixing areas, including maintaining active licensure for all pharmacy sites. Oversees adherence to all applicable federal and state regulations and best practices.* Maintains knowledge of state and federal pharmacy requirements.* Leads the development and implementation of pharmacy clinical strategies, including conducting monthly performance reviews to monitor outcomes to drive continuous pharma initiative strategy improvement.* Provides clinical support for medication management, which includes participation in regimen building and maintenance in the EMR.* Manages inventory systems to ensure acquisition of medications, appropriate inventory management, dispensing of medications and reconciliation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and best practices.* Source drug information for all disciplines within the organization.* Provides supervision and guidance for clinical operations and clinical decision making for the pharmacy and mixing areas.* Develop and execute pharmacy department goals aligned with organizational priorities, patient care standards, and regulatory compliance.* Ensure policies, procedures, and staff training meet all safety and quality requirements for hazardous and non-hazardous drug handling.* Regularly review and update of policies and procedures for both retail pharmacy and mixing areas in alignment with evolving regulations and best practices.* Lead internal audits and prepare for external inspections or accreditation surveys.* Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.* Additional responsibilities may be assigned to help drive the delivery of high-quality patient care.**Qualifications*** Strong people skills for pharmacy staff and practice interactions* Excellent project management skills with an emphasis on detail and follow-through* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills* Excellent organizational skills* Ability to use computers and software applications (MS Office products)* Knowledge of medical & pharmacy benefit billing practices* Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements* Ability to implement change in a positive way while ensuring a high-level of practice satisfaction* Expert knowledge of pharmacotherapy, including dosing, side effects, indications, contraindications and proper administration with ability access resources as required* Knowledge of clinic procedures and operations**Education & Experience**: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, Master's degree or PharmD preferred. Minimum seven years pharmacy experience, including at least three years in management. At least one year of oncology pharmacy experience and three years of pharmacy management experience. Must possess current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist.**Physical Demands**: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires sitting for long periods of time. Some bending and stretching required.
