Position: Marketing and Programs Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

Who we are The Lancaster County Council of the Arts, a non‑profit founded in 1977, is instrumental in empowering the arts to reach people where they are. We are changing the landscape of our county through public art, advocacy for our community artists, and arts education for young and old. We are a leader in revitalizing our downtown corridor, supporting growth in the fastest growing areas of our county, and ensuring all people are uplifted through the power of the arts. What you’ll do This administrative professional is responsible for forwarding the educational, economic and social mission of the arts in our community via marketing and promotion strategies (branding, social media, graphic design, website updates, etc.), assisting the Education Director with program execution including functional components of community programs and projects, and assisting Development Director and Executive Director with public relations opportunities and initiatives.

How you’ll do it

Organizes and executes marketing plans to accomplish objectives on schedule and within an established budget, approved by the Executive Director.

Observes and analyzes new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build the LCCA ‘brand’. Responsible for implementation of approved recommendations.

Oversees the creation of engaging stories to publish on the LCCA’s digital platforms to secure community engagement through publishing our ‘story’. Content must be engaging, relevant, motivational and/or invites participation.

Works with staff to plan, produce and execute impactful campaigns using new and existing social media platforms to grow LCCA’s online engagement metrics, through the development of collateral materials for programs and projects, and the production of video and photography for digital/print content.

Maintain website development and inventory of visual media for use in social platforms.

Assist in the coordination of designated program or project to ensure that goals are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.

Attends and/or assists in the facilitation of community arts events.

Develop and maintain key relationships establishing a community presence with local businesses, artists, civic organizations, funding sources, and educational partners to strengthen the mission and provide a consistent message of the value of the arts and LCCA’s work in the community.

About you! You’ll be successful in this role if you:

You have 2+ years of increasing responsibility in a marketing role

Project management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines

Are an exceptional and persuasive communicator in writing and verbally

Have flexibility and adaptability in work style and schedule, including some evening or weekend time during events

Hold a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience

Have the ability to travel occasionally to conferences and other professional development opportunities throughout the year (typically 2-4 conferences)

Ability to prove eligibility to work legally in the U.S. and that you are at least 18 years of age.

Have experience in the arts

Have a high degree of comfort with unanticipated possibilities of a project as it unfolds

Have experience working in growth phases of organizations

What we offer:

This is a full‑time, hourly position. The pay range for this position is $15 - $18 per hour.

Full‑time benefits include 14 days paid time‑off, 13 paid holidays, & a flexible work schedule.

We offer a QSEHRA in lieu of health benefits to all full‑time qualified employees.

Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits for regular employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week.

The other things you need to know:

This role is an in‑person role reporting to the Lancaster, SC office Monday - Friday each week.

Travel: Occasional travel within the community for events, programs, etc. This position may also involve occasional travel to conferences and professional development as mentioned.
