Overview
Associate Director, Head of Latin America Liability Management at Scotiabank. Location: New York, NY. The role focuses on building Scotiabank’s Liability Management product in Latin America, advising clients, and leading the structuring, documentation, advisory, marketing, and execution of LM transactions. Works with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions for issuer clients across jurisdictions. Duties
Direct client responsibility for advising, structuring, and executing Liability Management transactions on behalf of Scotiabank’s clients globally. Understand legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax implications of potential transactions across jurisdictions and provide appropriate client guidance. Structure, document, advise on, market, and execute originated Liability Management transactions. Assist in managing and developing junior resources; contribute to strategic planning and capacity building. Lead special projects such as building institutional knowledge of the Liability Management product across seniority levels and specialist teams. Collaborate with Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Derivatives, Sustainable Finance, Investment Banking, Syndicate, and local Corporate Banking teams abroad. Develop new ideas, products, and client solutions, including researching regulatory, accounting, tax, rating agency, and market developments. Adapt to a evolving business and market environment; provide strategic advice as markets change. Develop strategic relationships with market participants (pension funds, mutual funds, insurance, regulators, lawyers, financial institutions) in local and international debt markets. Ensure risk considerations, risk appetite, and risk culture are integrated into day-to-day activities and decisions. Promote effective operations aligned with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and global sales principles; ensure day-to-day controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk are in place. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, including debt capital markets; experience with Liability Management products; corporate finance and fixed income mathematics; advisory work for corporate, sovereign, and financial institution clients; and liability management practices in international markets; including Tender Offers for Sovereigns, Financial Institutions, and Corporates. 50% international travel required. Fluency in Spanish required. Offered salary is between $275,000 and $275,000 per year. 40 hours per week. How to Apply
