Description/Notes:
Direct and manage the district’s athletic programs (no football) and facilities while instructing and coaching students to develop athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Ensure compliance with federal, state, UIL, and local requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Knowledge of athletic program operations, coaching techniques, and UIL rules
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage budgets, personnel, and facilities
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
Experience
Successful teaching and coaching experience preferred
Major Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all athletic programs, practices, competitions, and events
Ensure student eligibility, safety, supervision, and adherence to the Student Code of Conduct
Manage athletic schedules, transportation, facilities, equipment, and inventory
Develop and administer the athletic budget
Recruit, supervise, evaluate, and support athletic staff and coaches
Maintain communication with students, parents, staff, and the community
Support booster clubs and promote positive community relations
Ensure compliance with district policies, UIL rules, and state and federal regulations
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate coaches and athletic support staff
Working Conditions
Frequent travel and irregular hours
Moderate physical demands associated with athletic activities
