Who We Are: The Met Christian Academy, a ministry of The MET Church, offers comprehensive, Christ-centered educational programs, including elementary education from Transitional Kindergarten – 2nd grade, and the Lamb School, which serves Infants – Pre-Kindergarten. We take great joy in partnering with families to provide exceptional education devoted to Christian discipleship. About This Role: This essential role supports the Director of The Met Christian Academy by overseeing the Lamb School staff and engaging with participating families. The Director collaborates closely with TMCA Director to foster a positive culture, empowering staff to fulfill the vision and ministry of TMCA. Together, they create a safe, nurturing, and spiritually enriching environment, ensuring that families in our community receive high-quality education focused on building meaningful relationships with God and each other.

This role is best suited for a leader who has the margin and capacity to invest consistently in staff, families, and ministry rhythms throughout the week, including early mornings, occasional evenings, and seasonal events that support the life of the school.

What You Will Do: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Vision & Leadership:

Support TMCA Director in the annual strategic planning and organizational goal-setting process for TMCA, articulating a clear and compelling vision that aligns with the mission and virtues of The MET Church, its Christian values, and educational goals, while fostering a highly relational and collaborative culture.

Innovate and coordinate summer programs and camps, creating more opportunities for discipleship and community engagement.

Maintain confidentiality and act with discretion as the gatekeeper for all matters regarding Lamb School.

Staff Management & Support

Responsible and primary contact for the overall operations of the Lamb School, ensuring a high standard of excellence, communication, and safety.

Partner with TMCA Director in setting the spiritual tone. Lead staff in daily prayer and biblical devotions. Model and live out relational discipleship and spiritual maturity with staff members. Shepherd, coach, and develop the talent and resources within their sphere of influence.

Recruit, interview and hire new staff that are aligned with the heart and mission of Lamb School.

Collaborate with TMCA Director to review and assess annual teacher contracts, collaborating with People Operations to effectively manage compensation adjustments and respond to market changes.

Provide frequent coaching and performance feedback conversations for Lamb School teachers and mentors. Partner with People Operations to provide corrective action to staff members as appropriate.

Provide annual trainings for teachers per licensing requirements and maintain records.

School Operations & Safety:

Collaborate with TMCA Director to effectively manage the Lamb School budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals of the school.

Enforce policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices of the organization.

Purchase and distribute classroom supplies, record expenses, and operate within determined budget.

Work closely with MET staff, systems, and processes to ensure seamless alignment in the management of facilities, finances, and personnel operations.

Comply with current state licensing and reporting requirements per the Health and Human Services Department.

Academic & Program Development

Identify, create, and implement Lamb School curriculum, ensuring the attainment of educational and spiritual development goals.

Collaborate with TMCA’s administrative staff to ideate, develop, and execute special events, programs, and fundraising opportunities. Partner with MET leadership to ensure alignment of expectations for any key events.

Lead a Parent Volunteer committee to serve throughout the year.

Family & Community Engagements

Support the staff in building and cultivating positive relationships with families and the community.

Encourage the consistent & appropriate use of social media channels to enhance community outreach.

Your Qualifications: Education & Experience

You are a fully committed and spiritually mature follower of Jesus Christ.

You faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with The MET Church and the Statement of Faith of this school.

You have a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet the combinations of education and experience as defined in 746.1021 of the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Licensing.

You will maintain HHS required Director Credentialing training for the purpose of assisting TMCA Director in supervising the activities of the school.

You bring multiple years of leadership experience in a Christian preschool, childcare, or ministry setting, including direct responsibility for staff oversight, parent partnership, and operational leadership.

You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and have a working knowledge of ministry software.

Hours and Work Environment: This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. While core hours are Monday–Friday 8:00–5:00, this role requires flexibility to be present during key moments beyond the school day, including staff gatherings, family events, and ministry needs that arise throughout the year.

The Director role requires clear professional boundaries and the ability to prioritize leadership responsibilities during the school day and ministry events, even when personal relationships or family connections intersect with the school community. Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a classroom teaching environment required.
