Camp Director
The City of Sunnyvale is seeking self-motivated, energetic and responsible individuals interested in summer employment to supervise recreation programs serving youth from 5 to 12 years old. The summer recreation programs are held at various parks and schools throughout the City of Sunnyvale. The summer camp program runs June 15 to Aug. 7, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mandatory Camp Staff Training is Monday, June 8
Friday, June 12. Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading reports and work-related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing personal customer service. The need to lift, drag and push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds is also required. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodation. The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way: High school diploma or GED equivalent AND Two (2) years or two (2) summer seasons of experience in specific program area (recreation, after school, health & fitness or related field) or population (youth, adults, older adults, special population) identified above. Minimum age is 18 years old. A valid American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate (course may be taken after hire) Possession at time of hire and continued maintenance of a valid California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record.
