Job Description
The Mohawk Mountain Snowsports Director will represent the Snowsports Discovery Center (SDC) to customers and employees and will provide the highest possible customer service. They will be responsible for day to day supervising of the Snowsports Discovery Center and will provide support for SDC staff. The Snowsports Director will ensure the continuing training of SDC staff. They will provide leadership and direction for the SDC, with the goal of providing the best possible learning environment for clients and their families. Responsibilities
Seek out, Interview, and Hire qualified staff Train staff to a high level of expertise Determines staff assignments and schedules Provides communications with staff and customers as necessary Provides supervisory roles for children's programs and other areas as needed Develops program goals Develops training goals and strategies to help develop instructing staff Ensures the quality of instruction and uses all available resources to promote the continued education of the teaching staff Other duties as assigned Position Requirements
Superior organizational and communication skills Leadership and supervisory skills Minimum PSIA/AASI L3 or equivalent preferred Experience working with and training staff preferred Race course setting and or USSA experience Experience with ALGE timing equipment and Split Second Software Able to quickly learn and become proficient in using multiple computer softwares USSS L100 preferred Special Considerations
Must be available to be on site from approximately October-March Must be available weekends and holidays throughout the season Must be able to lift and ski or snowboard with 50lbs of equipment Must be able to work outside in all conditions for long periods of time This position is offered as Full-Time or Part-Time seasonal (from roughly mid-August to late April, as weather allows). In addition to Mountain benefits (complimentary and discounted skiing & tubing for family/friends, meal benefits, discounted retail and workshop items) this position also offers the opportunity for Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision), 401K plus matching as well as a flexible summer schedule.
