ANSEP is actively searching for an experienced and dynamic leader to fill the role of ANSEP K-8 Assistant Director. ANSEP is actively searching for an experienced and dynamic leader to fill the role of ANSEP K-8 Assistant Director. This position allows you to make a profound impact by overseeing daily program operations, providing essential student support, and personnel management. The Assistant Director also ensures the smooth operation and quality instruction of all ANSEP K-8 components, including Middle School sessions, STEM Ready sessions, and Career Explorations. This position contributes to budget monitoring, preparing strategic documents, and helping manage the student registration process. An additional component of this position is playing a central role by collaborating with site leadership to design, launch, and fully implement a new K-5 initiative. Responsibilities

Oversee daily program operations for ANSEP K-8 components, including Middle School sessions, STEM Ready sessions, and Career Explorations. Provide essential student support and supervise Program Assistants, while maintaining professional boundaries with students and staff. Manage personnel matters, enforce policies, and ensure a safe and inclusive program climate. Monitor budgets, prepare strategic documents, and assist with student registration processes. Collaborate with site leadership to design, launch, and implement a new K-5 initiative. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field (such as STEM or education) and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. At least two years of classroom management experience in a school or academic program. Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid Alaska drivers license with a three-year driving record, as driving an ANSEP vehicle is required. Must be able to lift or move 25 to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree Professional teaching license Current CPR with AED/First Aid certification Experience working with Indigenous Alaska or rural populations Position Details

This position is located on the UAA campus in Anchorage. It is a full-time, term-funded, exempt (salaried) staff position with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and medical, dental, and vision coverage.
