Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education
Medical Director or Associate Veterinarian
Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, Marietta, Georgia, United States, 30064
At PetVet Care Centers, our mission is to improve the lives of animals and people — providing exceptional and compassionate care at every stage — for all the moments that matter.
Because life is better with pets.
We deliver the
Ultimate Care Experience — every pet, every client, every time.
That starts with a Culture of Care that supports our team members as much as the pets and clients we serve.
With more than
420 locally led hospitals
and over
11,000 team members nationwide , we offer:
Local autonomy with national support
Career mobility and development opportunities
A collaborative, inclusive environment where your wellbeing comes first
You care for pets. We care for you.
Position Overview We are seeking a
feline-exclusive Veterinarian
to complete our team at
Paws Whiskers and Claws in Marietta, GA . Mentorships available! Experienced and interested in a leadership role? We can also offer a Medical Director position where you would have the opportunity to provide leadership support, influence, and expertise to grow the practice.
Medical Director (MD)
is responsible for providing strong leadership for the hospital, managing and mentoring associate veterinarians, and assuring regulatory compliance relating to the practice of veterinary medicine. The MD also serves as a staff veterinarian in addition to the administrative and leadership duties. Effective MDs demonstrate strong work and professional ethics, a positive attitude, and uphold a high standard of patient care. They are part of the foundation upon which successful veterinary practices are built and directly impact and influence hospital culture and morale.
We practice ethical medicine (we are a no‑declaw practice) while focusing on OUR quality of life for the patients. We work hard but smart so that we allow for excellent patient care and client education while preserving our personal time.
We specialize in complex disease management, heavy in internal medical and behavioral problems. Dr Luoma, who graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019, practices detail‑oriented, education‑focused medicine alongside certified cat behavior consultant Ingrid Johnson. Together, they micromanage each cat's quality of life from every aspect and help their owners understand what their cat needs and why.
Education and hands‑on instruction are the hallmark of our success. Our appointments for new clients and patients are 1 to 1.5 hours since there is so much to learn about each patient and then teach each owner about what the cat needs to thrive. Regular appointments are 1 hour or 30 minutes. We never double‑book.
We value continuing education for ourselves so that we stay current for our clients who have high expectations of our knowledge and abilities. We want to pass on all that we have learned to an associate veterinarian who is eager to practice and learn the intricacies of feline medicine and what we have learned over the nearly 20 years Paws Whiskers and Claws have been making a difference in the community.
We welcome new ideas and ways to improve upon what and how we care for our patients and their owners. We hope a new associate will bring knowledge and skills to add to our acumen.
We encourage all interested applicants, including new graduates, but prefer someone with at least 2 years of experience. However, a passion for feline medicine and behavior is all that we require; we can do the rest!
